Dr. Joseph Hassman has been practicing medicine in Berlin, New Jersey since 1966. He is currently treating many second and third-generation family members in the community. A true practitioner of "family medicine," Dr. Hassman has proudly welcomed two of his sons, David Hassman, D.O. and Michael Hassman, D.O., and his daughter, Elissa Hassman, D.O. into the Advocare Berlin Medical Associates practice. His son, Howard Hassman, heads the Hassman Research Institute which is located at the same site.
 
"Dr. Joe" received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from Temple University in 1957, and his Doctor of Osteopathy from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1965. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians and is a member of the Camden County Society of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, the New Jersey Osteopathic Association, and the American Osteopathic Association. Over the years, Dr. Joe has led extensive clinical research in a variety of fields.
 
Dr. Joe is affiliated with several hospitals and hospital systems in the greater Philadelphia area including Jefferson University Hospital, and Virtua Hospital Systems. He was the president and executive board member of the L.O.G. National Medical Fraternity and served as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Practice at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
 
Dr. Joe and his wife, Lillian, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 2009. They enjoy winter skiing, summer boating, and fishing with their family, including their fifteen grandchildren.
