Dr. Christopher Colopinto joined Advocare Berlin Medical Associates in 1998 and has been board certified in family practice since 1985. Born in South Philadelphia, he graduated from Bishop Neumann High School in 1970 and attended Drexel University and Temple University where he received his bachelor’s degree, and then went on to earn his doctoral degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1978.
In addition to his role at the practice, Dr. Colopinto is an associate professor of family medicine for the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) School of Osteopathic Medicine, where he enjoys teaching and has trained many medical students and residents over the past thirty years. He also has maintained a family practice in the city of Camden since 1979 and previously worked as director of clinical research and the principle investigator for more than thirty trials on arthritis, diabetes, asthma, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Colopinto is a musician who currently plays the keyboard and the accordion and has performed professionally with his band for more than thirty years. He also enjoys swimming, is a former skier and a certified SCUBA diver, as well as spending time with his family. He is married and has three daughters and grandchildren.
